The Health, Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ) every year offers four scholarship categories that are aimed at individuals who are currently working in health and safety, as well as those who wish to pursue a career in this field.

The categories are:

  • Health & Safety: for practitioners and health and safety representatives who want to upskill to a diploma or degree, as well as people wanting to specialise in health and safety by undertaking a bachelors degree or postgraduate qualification at a university.

  • Poutama: for Māori health and safety practitioners who want to take their skills to the next level.

  • Women in Safety: for female health and safety practitioners who are ready to upskill from a technical level into leadership and governance to influence health and safety leadership and governance practice in New Zealand.

  • Agriculture & Horticulture: to attract people to agriculture and horticulture, support specialisation through relevant qualifications, with a focus on the Bay of Plenty region, while keeping applications open to everyone regardless of location.

HASANZ has compiled a handy guide to tertiary workplace health and safety courses in New Zealand and Australia. This list intends to provide a helpful starting point for those looking for available courses. However, applications to study other tertiary qualifications in workplace health and safety that aren’t featured on this list are also accepted.

All enquiries should be directed to scholarships@hasanz.org.nz
