Announcement – New Director, Government Health and Safety Lead
The GHSL is delighted to announce Lance Goodall as our new Director, starting Monday 21st February 2022. Lance is currently the Head of Wellbeing, Health and Safety at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
With an extensive public sector background, Lance has demonstrated experience working at cross-agency and cross-sector level. As an active member of the GHSL Heads of Health and Safety Forum Lance holds existing relationships across the sector and is familiar with the GHSL work programme.
Lance is a strong fit for the position, bringing credibility amongst the H&S community and ability to present effectively to chief executives and senior leaders. We are confident we will be in very capable hands with Lance, who will take over from Tina Paterson who has led the function for the last three years. Lance will build on the great work done to date as we seek to further improve health and safety performance and maturity for our sector.
In the interim period between Tina’s last day on 22nd December and Lance’s first day on 21 February, GHSL Principal Adviser Braden Lister will be acting Director.
